Thank you, It is mineral oil and paste wax. I use it to cut down on the sanding dust. You can only use an oil base finish if you use this method.

    Take Care,

    Carl

Nicely done, very beneficial. What type of sanding are you doing with the can of “cream” you dip sand paper into? Pro and cons of this sanding method?

    Thanks Tom,
No the magnet strip doesn’t affect the tools.

Cool! Well, there’s another one on my list of things to try. I’ve noticed a lot of the projects use different types of tools and styles of using them. Every project is a different lesson in itself. Thank you.

P.S. Does the magnet strip you hang your tools on effect them or cause them to hang up on the tool rest?

I love all your work Carl. Jus tone question. What sort of Glue do you use and what is the drying time before you can start turning? You may have mentioned in in one of your vids but the sound on my comp has gone down. Thanks in anticipation. I am trying to learn all I can before i Buy a lathe and your vids amongst others have been great. Thanks again. Martin UK.

    Beautiful work Carl!!
Just what kind of Maple are you using? The Maple I use doesn’t look anything like this nice piece of wood you use.
    /Nic.

Maple is my favorite wood to turn. It is very common here in Oregon. I like the way the mineral oil gives it a rich dark color.

    Thanks,

Looks very cute! You make it look so easy :) I love maple burl as well as bird’s eye maple. Too bad you can’t get it here in Europe so easily. And it’s very expensive… it’s more common in the US and Canada I guess.

Where do you get your wood from?
