Your Questions About Carpenter Tools

Donna asks…

WHICH ROTARY HAMMER DRILL TO BUY?

i personally never really needed a rotary hammer drill until now( iam a carpenter) so i need a heavy duty tool.

the problem with buying off the net is you dont have the feel for the tool, just the specs, i have 2 options and would like your opinions plz

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270752822767?…

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Milwaukee-SDS…

i like how option one comes with drill bits

but for option two i like how its slim and has a higher power output ( which is strange because i always thought that vertical piston was more powerful)

anyone encounter these two tools before?

thanks guys!

I do a fair bit of engineering work mainly metal which sometimes need anchoring into concrete. I generally use Hilti products for all of my fixing work. But, in saying this as one of the guys said the Ozito brand that Bunnings sell are surprisingly good. They have plenty of power, reliable and a 3 year warranty and cheap. I could buy 6 Ozito hammer drills for the price of one of my Hilti’s. Would I purchase an Ozito over a Hilti, I have. But in saying this it is nice to have quality gear too. Good luck.

Tradesmen/women: 1) What’s your favourite tool + why? 2) Any funny stories about…?

…your tools etc?
This is for part of a uni project so would be grateful for any information that anyone could provide. Just some details on your professional tools would be great as well. This applies to any builders, plumbers, electricians, brickies, carpenters… anyone really. Thanks in advance for any help =)

Dusty answers:

Without question, my cordless screwdriver. I am a widow and this tool has been a god send. I have learned to do many things which I didn’t think I was capable of but with my trusty screwdriver I, at times, amaze myself at what I can fix. I think it should be a law, no woman should ever be without one.

Ken asks…

What should I build ???

I have a large 25×25′ room off the back of my house not being used. I want to make something but what? And I got to make some money on whatever I do. I have carpenters and auto mechanics tools. What can I make with my hands and feed myself to ???

Dusty answers:

Maybe a storage place, or if you get kids it could be a playplace for them, mine sure do love those kind of things! OR a mini office, or whatever you need for your house.
