Your Questions About Carpenter Tools

Mark asks…

funny or not2?

A man is strolling past the mental hospital and suddenly remembers an important meeting.

Unfortunately, his watch has stopped, and he cannot tell if he is late or not. Then, he notices a patient similarly strolling about within the hospital fence.

Calling out to the patient, the man says, “Pardon me, sir, but do you have the time?”

The patient calls back, “One moment!” and throws himself upon the ground, pulling out a short stick as he does. He pushes the stick into the ground, and, pulling out a carpenter’s level, assures himself that the stick is vertical.

With a compass, the patient locates north and with a steel ruler, measures the precise length of the shadow cast by the stick.

Withdrawing a slide rule from his pocket, the patient calculates rapidly, then swiftly packs up all his tools and turns back to the pedestrian, saying, “It is now precisely 3:29 pm, provided today is August 16th, which I believe it is.”

The man can’t help but be impressed by this demonstration, and sets his watch accordingly.

Before he leaves, he says to the patient, “That was really quite remarkable, but tell me, what do you do on a cloudy day, or at night, when the stick casts no shadow?” The patient holds up his wrist and says, “I suppose I’d just look at my watch.”

Maria asks…

what car should i buy?

im a carpenter. i dont want a big car but i do need trunk space for tools .. i do alot of driving so that is a big factor. i will not go domestic . i have about 6-9 grand to spend on a car (money isnt an issue its more about the car itself) im looking at a 4 door honda civic i believe its a 2002-4 or a 2002-5 Mazda 3 .. the mazda is a hatchback and the civic is a coupe .. i want to know what you would choose why.. and why you wouldnt choose the other car. also if you have other suggestions i would like to hear them

i was also thinking toyota corolla. i dont like the back windows of the matrix and mazda 5 ..
i need something cheap on gas and reliable. i dont wanna boat just cause it has trunk space. but i dont want something that makes me look like a homo

hopefully i was specific enough to get a solid answer . if you have sites that you looked at id like those pasted aswell

Toyota Corolla’s are decent. They aren’t the most masculine car but no foreign cars are that masculine. That’s the American segment. :P

I would chose the Mazda 3 out of the ones you listed, though. It’s good on gas, and being a hatchback it’s got plenty of room space in the back especially with the seats folded down. It’s also got a sporty appeal to it. Even the hatchback version is pretty sporty.

I wouldn’t chose the Honda Civic because it’s a ‘cute’ car.

Denny answers:

You do not want the Corolla. It is one of the most boring cars to drive and one of the most underpowered cars.

Honda is the most reliable brand in the world, with Subaru at number 2, Toyota as the third, and Mazda is the 4th.
So they are all very reliable cars.

The Civic gets 36mpg highway.
The more powerful, faster, heavier and more practical Mazda 3 gets 32mpg highway depending on the engine option you get.

For work, the Mazda 3 is better with the hatchback trunk. And it handles like sports car and it is the fastest car you listed so this is the best choice. It also comes with the most standard features.
