how i did my lead screw for my vice is, i cut a mortice for the nut to seat in, then on the drill press i bored a hole all the war thru then added a counter bore for the bronze bushing that the screw runs thru

Thanks. I prefer to use the table saw. I find it’s easier to setup.

  4. jpheisz says:

The notch is probably easier to cut in a “V” shape, and definitely faster. Thanks for watching.

it’s always nice to see how problems are sorted out – this is where the skills come out – and you did a great job.

my two cents: wouldn’t have been easier to cut a cove with a router, rather than using the table saw?

great series, keep up the good work.

Great video, does the notch need to be in “V”?

  7. EZCyclone says:

Yeah that sounds nice! YouTube never gives them to me in the right order. I’m always hunting around for the next one I want to see in a series. Oh and if the name of the video is really long like “This is my how do showing you how to do a how to part – 6″ The ends always cut off and I have to cross my fingers and click, hoping I get the next video in the series. Sucks…

  8. jpheisz says:

The nut needs to open and close around the threaded rod for quick adjustment.
    Thanks for watching!

I don’t understand why we cut the nut in half…is there a reason in the future?

I have always just opened the pull down menu that shows users videos in the order they where uploaded. Ya playlist would be nice too.

  11. jpheisz says:

Thanks! The videos were made into a playlist shortly after I uploaded them, 2 days ago. Not sure why they are not coming up properly.
    Thanks for watching.

  12. EZCyclone says:

You really should make this series a playlist. You tube keeps loosing the next video in order. Great job so far, can’t wait to see the end result! Thanks for sharing!
