    Good ideas!

Any idea how to plane down a coffee table size piece of Monkey Pod?
I’ve a huge piece that’s been a part of my garage for 20 years that should be made into an incredible table IF I could figure out how to take down 1/16 – 1/8 inch and finish it off. It must weigh 70 lbs and is a HARD wood.

    That’s a nice finish.

what danzeyboy said, clamp a piece at the end so that the piece wont get tearout, if you do it that way, as you can see the edge is gonna be very uneven

  7. edbiscocho says:

    that’s the best idea

  8. danzeyboy says:

Or clamp a piece of scrap to the end, and run it through in one pass, then it’s just the scrap that splinters. Doing it his way you could get an uneven surface.
